This Basic Fall Arrest Safety Course teaches employees/students how to safely select and use personal fall arrest systems so they can work safely above ground. Theory portion includes;

» Components of a Fall Arrest System
» Inspection of the Equipment
» Selection of an appropriate connecting device
» Importance of choosing a legal tie-off point

The in-class portion is followed by a practical competency assessment where students will be asked to show they can use the equipment appropriately. Upon successful completion of the course, operators will receive a 'WestMat Certified'  wallet sized operators card.

Bruce joined the WestMat team in 1994 working as a journeyman forklift technician. He later advanced to a position in customer service and sales where he remained until 2011 when he took over as WestMat’s lead safety instructor for Northern Alberta including our Edmonton, Red Deer and Grande Prairie safety training courses.

Bryan joined the Calgary WestMat team in 2001; prior to that, he worked for over 10 years as an automotive technician and entry level mechanics instructor. Bryan has over 20 year of experience in the forklift industry, both as a service technician and a technical trainer. Bryan brings a broad range of knowledge and experience to our Safety Training team.
