This 2- day course offers in-house safety trainers an in-class opportunity at your site or at one our facilities (upon request) to become a certified Forklift Safety Trainer. The theory portion is focused on sit-down forklift, stand-up Electric, and power jacks & stackers safety awareness including;
» Safe and Proper Operation
» Site Assessment
» Equipment Assessment
» Safety Equipment & Devices
» Pedestrian Safety
» Battery Watering & Maintenance including PPE Requirements
The in-class portion is followed by a practical skill testing and competency assessment where future trainers will be asked to show they not only operate the equipment safely but also conduct the practical portion of operator evaluations themselves.
As a certified trainer you will need training materials. The ultimate training package can be purchased with the safety training course to ensure you have all the tools required moving forward as a certified safety trainer.

Bruce joined the WestMat team in 1994 working as a journeyman forklift technician. He later advanced to a position in customer service and sales where he remained until 2011 when he took over as WestMat’s lead safety instructor for Northern Alberta including our Edmonton, Red Deer and Grande Prairie safety training courses.

Bryan joined the Calgary WestMat team in 2001; prior to that, he worked for over 10 years as an automotive technician and entry level mechanics instructor. Bryan has over 20 year of experience in the forklift industry, both as a service technician and a technical trainer. Bryan brings a broad range of knowledge and experience to our Safety Training team.
